E 2 - locking systems!!!

Task 2.
Locking systems


Anti Torsion rope. The idea is to use the tension within a torsion rope to counter act the weight. The more pressure you put in the coils of newspaper the more weight you can place on the platform. Also because the torsion spring is locked (ie it cant uncoil itself) when you put more pressure on the platform the coil will compress on itself create more push and thus making it stronger with the more wieght you add.

Attempted base
This idea after many hours attempting, was unable to be completed. It was too difficult to build out of paper products without connections. So I moved on to a simpler idea.....

This is a simple cone, spiraled together loosly. Then the top section is cut off, and two small slit is cut down the center, where two pieces of cardboard are placed to hold the whole thing together.
